Like a lot of us I fell back into this hobby during lockdown when in desperation I bought a 40k starter set to entertain my two boys.  We had played Talisman to death.

They were kind of into it but were way happier playing Lego batman.  I was entranced by the stories and detail of the models though.  I got more pretending it was for the boys and fell deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole.

After about a year a friend suggested I start posting on IG, I overcame my fear and decided to try it.  Not long after I posted a converted 40k Sentinal that had been embraced by Grandfather Nurgle.  It was a gamechanger for me; people were really into it.  Many of them were part of a community called Conclave Obscura.  They not only seemed to like my gory, freaky work but actually encouraged me to do more.

I am also a massive film fan; I try to watch 365 films a year and usually just scrape that number.  My work is hugely influenced by cinema of all genres but particularly horror.  A lot of my work recreates scenes from films in the 40k universe.

I was asked to be a judge on the Conclaves Scenes of Savagery painting competition. This was a lot of fun and opened up a whole new part of the hobby for me.
