Pictor Nox

Horror Miniature Painter

Based in The Netherlands

As a horror miniature painter of scale models, display figures, and general grotesqueries I create my works using acrylics, enamels, oil pencils and paints, various varnishes and glues.

I strive to recreate realistic textures and effects that unsettle, disturb, and revolt.

Flesh work and multi-layered skin techniques are my focal points where I use various of my own techniques and recipes mixing glues, varnishes and more into a blend of dark and horrific renderings of my gruesome test subjects.

Oil Pencil Veins, Flesh Grafting, Flesh Peeling and PVA Flesh Layering are my staples today, and I invite you if you dare to come see my works on any of my links below, and content here.

Largely inspired by the worlds of Alien, Hellraiser, Cyberpunk and Akira my works are attempts at relaying concepts and visuals from these sources ever since they were etched into my mind.

I firmly believe “styles” don’t exist and that art should not be pushed into a box.

Do what you like, how you like, seek inspiration everywhere and try to push your own vision.

And most importantly, always Embrace Failure, Always Experiment, Always push the macabre limits of your experience.
